Sex Before Marriage

One of the differences between Christian couples and their secular brethren is their attitude about sex before marriage. In an age when “everyone is doing it” and “if it feels good, how can it be bad” Christian couples strive to remain pure before marriage. Some try and fail. Others stumble and then get back on the wagon (so to speak). And others manage to remain pure against the urges that naturally come as a couple get closer and closer to their wedding day. It is, in some ways, a fascinating test because as you get to know your fiancée better and better, you become more spiritually and emotionally intimate and so it becomes harder and harder to deny yourself the corresponding physical pleasure. And what advice do The Golden Rules Christian couples have to offer: set boundaries and try to stick to them. Ask your friends for help. Be responsible for yourselves but also keep in mind what is best for your future spouse and your marriage. As Bomei Roberson says in her advice about being responsible for controlling her own desires and setting limits for your fiancee: “A Christian man will always be a Christian man. But he is also a man.”
