Just read in the Detroit Free Press that the Pentagon is saying the divorce rate for military couples was unchanged from 2006 to 2007.

In some ways, that's surprising given the incredible (and increasing) strain the military marriages are being placed under during current campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq. But you also have to give the U.S. Military credit because one of the conclusions you can't escape is that the military is doing more and more to help military couples in terms of counseling, opporuntities to communicate with spouses and children, etc. Maybe it still isn't enough, and there are still many people saying that concern over marriages is a priority during peacetime but gets put on the backburner when there is a war on.
