CBS News did a piece tonight on the incredibly high suicide rate for Iraq/Afghanistan Veterans.

They provide detailed statistics about the increased rate of suicide attempts among vets treated by the VA. For example, suicide attempts for those treated by the VA has jumped 44% from 2000 to 2007. And it isn't just younger veterans that are at risk. For veterans aged 55 - 59 the number of suicide attempts from 2000 - 2007 grew from 19 to 117.
