As Wars Lengthen, Greater Toll On Military Families

An article by the Associated Press again raises the ongoing problem of multple deployments on military marriages and families. Everyone seems to agree that the military is doing more and more to help couples and husbands and wives in the military who are separated for long periods because of deployments and who must deal with issues that no other couples must face (of course, the spouses of firemen and policement face loss of life concerns but even with the great work that firemen and policemen do, the danger isn't comparable to to what combat troops face and there are not the extended separation issues).

What is particularly devastating is the mention in this article (and a topic you don't hear discussed nearly as often as the effect of military service on a spouse) of the effect of deployment non children.

Please, read the article and let us know what you think.
